Salta La Linda in the north of Argentina is a region know for its breathtaking views among other things. Host to alien landscapes of salt flats and cactus forests that are backdropped by colourful mountains, it truly feels like another planet when you are here, the human inhabitants are the only giveaway. Not only explore the landscapes also come to know the culture of the region. Passing through culture filled Salta Villages constructed from straw and adobe, where time has almost stopped and customs are as they were generations before, cultivating their living as their ancestors have always done.
We offer you a package which can be personalized depending of your preference; for example a tour to Humahuaca or a tour with lamas in the mountains from Purmamarca it’s all up to you!
Day 0 : Airport transfer to the hotel
Afternoon : free to visit the city of Salta : Plaza 9 de Julio, Catedral Basílica, Cabildo, House of Uriburu, Convento San Francisco, Convento San Bernardo, mirador del Cerro San Bernardo, Monumento al General Güemes, Monumento 20 de Febrero.
Day 1 : Day trip to salinas grande :
Travel to Jujuy by route 9/34. On the way you’ll see Yala, volcanoes, Tumbaya, Purmamarca, the hill of 7 colours and the artesanal market, the amazing Cuesta del Lipan, Cuesta del Saladillo, Abra del Potrerillo (4150 m/s/n/m), blue volcanoes and Salinas Grandes of Jujuy (vicugna and llamas). Trip back to Salta from Purmamarca.
Day 2 : Day trip to Cachi :
Quebrada de los Laureles, Quebrada del Escoipe, Cuesta del Obispo, Valle Encantado, Piedra del Molino (3.430 m/s/n/m), Recta del “TIN TIN”, National park los Cardones, Mirador del Nevado de Cachi, Payogasta y Cachi. Trip back to Salta.
Route : 345 km. Length: 11 hours. Starting time : 7am
Day 3 : Bus Salta Cafayate : 6.50am – 11am (or 10.30am –2.15pm) ~10USD not included
5-hours private tour by car to the Quebrada de las conchas with a bilingual local guide. You’ll stop at the main points along the way following a personalised itinerary to observe some of the formations. This guided tour will provide you a good history and insight along with lots of anectodes and a taste of the local music.
Day 4 : Private tour to bodegas with your local guide who will explain everything about the village history while you observe some amazing landscape on the way. On arrival to the bodega Finca de las Nubes and Piattelli you can decide to enjoy some tasty cuisine in a little paradise. From here go and try some local goat cheese at las cabras de Cafayate.
