This Patagonian Nature Reserve is a World Listed Heritage Site for the conservation of marine mammals. Home to the world famous Orcas who developed the hunting technique of beaching themselves on shore to prey on seals. It also plays host to many more. It is the breeding ground for the endangered Southern Right Whale as well as important populations of southern sea lions and elephant seals, to mention a few.
Take the boat tour for your opportunity to see these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. Whales and seals playing with their young, dolphins
surfing the boat or Orcas hunting seals (the only place in the world this type of hunting can be seen). End of October to Mid November and then January through to March are the most ideal months to view Orcas.
Explore on land to see more of the vast wildlife calling this place home such as the Magellanic Penguins or Patagonian Foxes. For the more adventurous you can kayak or snorkel with sea lions, a truly unreal experience. Whatever experience you are looking for we have a trip to suit.

Day 1 : Guided tour of Isla Escondida and PUNTA TOMBO; the most important penguin reserve in Latin America, home to the largest colony of Magellanic Penguins. Dolphin watching also available.
First stop in Playa Union, where you have the option to go dolphin watching. You will be on the lookout for some Commerson’s dolphins known for being friendly and playful. Under the lead of your professional guide continue to PUNTA TOMBO to view the Magellanic Penguins nesting, hunting and tending to their chicks.

Day 3 : Snorkeling with sea lions
Travel by boat to Chubut, the oldest nature reserve in the area, just 15km away from Puerto Madryn. Home to a permanent settlement of unique sea lions of one hair.
Take the opportunity to snorkel with them and enjoy their playful company or simply observe them in their natural environment.
